Decoy Painting Seminar-Old Squaw Drake-June 11, 2005

We will be painting an E. Allen-Old Squaw Drake.  This decoy is our Standard Old Squaw  from a carving by Keith Mueller.  You can make a tail insert from ABS plastic, black trash can or a Koy Pond.  We do have some tail material available if you need (limited).  Bud Shell & Lou Tisch will be your instructors.
You will receive your unassembled decoy prior to the class  so you will have time to get it ready.  The decoy will need to be prepped, assembled, re-primed (directions provided) and ready to paint when you enter the class.  Do not base coat with gesso.  Bring Drake Old Squaw reference materials, books, pictures, mounts…anything for visuals.

Class Cost: $95 which includes: decoy (unassembled), instructor fee, coffee/donuts, pizza & pop for lunch.

Class hours:  9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Class Location:    Shop of Lock Stock & Barrell, Inc., 123 Avery, Clinton Twp., MI  48036

Exit 236 from I-94 and turn West onto Metro Parkway.  Go ½ mile & turn North on Harper which becomes Avery after the 2nd light.  We’re on the right, 6 buildings South of South River Road.

This class is open to all who would like to attend, though space is limited.  Students are responsible for all supplies, except the decoy, which will be provided...unassembled (picked up or shipped).  Lock Stock & Barrell will have the Golden Products, combs and some brushes available for purchase at the seminar.  Supplies may be purchased jointly and shared as needed by the participants.  Many of the brushes may be purchased at any art supply store prior to the seminar.  We can email you a picture of the brushes we use and a list is below.  Let’s have some fun!
